Sharks are a good sign of a healthy ocean environment, and the Reef Guardians California research vessel has been quite busy this year from sharks to reef studies along the California coastline.
There was a mystery to be solved when oil started showing up on beaches from Carpinteria to the city of Santa Barbara. Together with state organizations and representatives, Reef Guardians helped to find a solution.
Kauai's Rare Hawksbill Turtle!
The newly identified Honu'ea or Hawksbill Sea Turtle, discovered at Reef Guardians Coral Reef Kids Camp by Reef Camp teacher Brianna Smith and her "pod" of explorers, has been named after the boy with the documenting camera. Aloha Sawyer! Thank you to everyone who voted.
