Ms. Mermaid: New Hawksbill Discovery
This turtle is named Ms. Mermaid after our Executive Director Robin Mazor who discovered her - the 43rd honu'ea or hawksbill turtle in Kauaʻi's waters reported since 1998. Reef Guardians Hawai'i works with Hawaiian Hawksbill Conservation to educate the public about how to photo-identify and protect honuʻea. Hawaiian hawksbills are one of the world's most rare and endangered populations.
